Program description

Students learn about the fundamentals of today鈥檚 business world at the college level.听Students can expect to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for an听entry level position in a variety of business setting.

What are the admission requirements for the Business Studies program?

Business Studies admission requirements

OSSD or equivalent with

  • Grade 12 English (C or U)
  • any Grade 111 or 12 Mathematics (C, M, or U)

Minimum of 60% in Grade 11 College or University level Mathematics (MBF3C or听MCF3M)

Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school听applicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicants听who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing. Applicants who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary听institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for听admission; refer to the Credit for Prior Learning website for details:

How do I apply to the Business Studies program?

Register on a course-by-course basis, paying as you go

Part-time students do not go through an application process for this program.听To register for courses, you鈥檒l need a 小优短视频 student number and declare your major. Declaring a major allows you to take all courses under that major.

Finance and fees

Are part-time students eligible for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)?小优短视频 Chevron

As a part-time student, you may be eligible for OSAP funding, depending on the number of courses you take per semester.

What is the cost of the program?小优短视频 Chevron

As a part-time student, you can take one to three courses per semester, paying on a course-by-course basis.

Online learning

What is an OntarioLearn (ODE) course?小优短视频 Chevron

These courses are offered through OntarioLearn. Visit the OntarioLearn webpage to learn more.

OntarioLearn courses are set up as equivalents to the 小优短视频 courses. You can choose to take the ODE courses or the 小优短视频 courses.

When a 小优短视频 course isn鈥檛 available to be delivered online, we鈥檝e listed an OntarioLearn course in the delivery schedule. The majority of the 小优短视频 courses have ODE equivalents set up. You can choose to take either course.

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL)

Can I transfer credits or prior life or work experience to fast track my studies?小优短视频 Chevron

Previous postsecondary education: If you鈥檝e completed courses, or some or all of a program, at another accredited postsecondary institution, you may be able to transfer all or some of your courses into a related program at 小优短视频.

Relevant work or life experience: If you have relevant work and/or life experience that relates to your program(s) of interest at 小优短视频, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is an academic credit option.
