Steve Lowe named new Chair of С�Ŷ��Ƶ’s Board of Governors

Steve Lowe, an Owen Sound resident, community champion and Wealth Advisor at , is the 2024-25 Chair of С�Ŷ��Ƶ’s Board of Governors. The board held its first meeting of the academic year on Sept. 26.

I’m honoured to serve in this challenging leadership role and to work alongside a passionate and committed group of community volunteers and internal representatives.

Steve Lowe is the new Chair of С�Ŷ��Ƶ’s Board of Governors.

Lowe joined the Board of Governors in 2020 and recently served as Vice Chair.

“Steve has been an ardent champion of the college and our students, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to deliver an unrivaled experience and develop our next five-year strategic plan to guide us into the future,” said Kevin Weaver, President and CEO, С�Ŷ��Ƶ. “He’s been a significant contributor since joining our board and brings a unique perspective and deep commitment to community that will be an asset for this leadership role.”

Prior to his career at RBC Dominion Securities, Lowe was managing partner for a national accounting firm and an entrepreneur growing a family business. As a chartered accountant and entrepreneur, he developed an expertise in wealth management for his clients and specializes in working with family-owned businesses, and professionals.

Lowe is active in the community. He is Past Chair of the and has served on the board of the . Steve is a strong supporter of the local business community and entrepreneurship, and he is a founding Board Member of the Blue Water Angel Investor Group and . Professionally, he has been involved with as a member of the Professional Conduct and Discipline Committees.

New members of the board this year include Barbara Dickson, Courtney Duthie, Joe Johnson and Rebecca Thivierge.
